What We Do

The vast majority of BASSS’ professional work is with federal, state, county, and city agencies needing expertise in development projects and clearances. Based on this extensive experience, BASSS has developed and repeatedly field-tested a cost effective strategy for conducting archaeological services. This strategy is not only cost effective, but ensures that field, analytic, and writing phases of these services are completed on time and within budget. BASSS staff is well-versed in the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, the Procedures for the Protection of Historic and Cultural Properties (36 CFR 800, Section 106) as amended; and the Procedures for Determining Site Eligibility for National Register of Historic Places (36 CFR 63). All work conforms to the Secretary of Interior’s Standards for Archaeology and Historic Preservation (48 CFR 44716) guidelines.
