Our History

Initially formed in 2000 by Billy A Silva (MA, RPA), BA Silva Sensing Systems (BASSS) was created to supply geophysical surveys for small projects. These projects covered a wide range of archaeological resources; from historic cemeteries and large prehistoric mounds to Spanish era adobes. BASSS has continually grown within the ten years since its inception and is a leader in delivering cost effective archaeological investigations and geophysical analysis of archaeological resources throughout the Western United States. To better serve our clients in the Rocky Mountain West, BASSS has recently opened a satellite office in Corvallis, Montana. Additionally, we have added staff to the firm, adding breadth and depth to the company, enabling BASSS to serve in diverse projects and contracts. Expanding our archaeological services in 2009, we now offer not only geophysical technology, but a vast array of consulting and associated services.
